Kin Ell, glad I don't have to drive all the way up from some distant outpost such as Brackley then! I knew living in Wellingborough would have a benefit one day. 6 am Saturday it is then

How does 6 O'clock grab you?
As for mentioning that we may well have a special Fiendish Guests, indeed, possibly the most Fiendish musicians ever in the dark history of Gothic music, with us in the pits - I probably would not mention this at this stage - or did I just mention this?

With less than 1 week to go my thoughts turn once again to the misfire. It is evident that the miss is only happening at higher rpm and under high boost conditions. I have checked many sources and am confident that the plugs are the right ones.
The misfire is getting worse whch suggests that something was or is on the way out. I do not attribute this to increased boost or fuel. Before we run again I want to pull the dissy and check the play & rotor phasing, replace the crank trigger sensor and also check the spring pressures and valve lash settings.
The fault could also be in the leads but I doubt this as the misfire was irregular. As A final thing to check - the condition of the earth lead to the chassis/batterys. I know the batteries are showing good condition however that was after being on charge for 24hrs each right? If they were less that perfect on the runs then it can affect the ability of the MSD. Getting a spark whilst testing unit on the MSD tester is not the same as firing an engine cylinder under high boost/load conditions. I suggest a really early start on Saturday and get as much of this done before we take it out qualifying. I will be bringing spare batteries & lead set just in case. Finally - and after much groveling & apologising from the supplier for the Morse cables, we have a new replacement and get to keep the old ones so thats a kind of bonus. Six seconds is within our grasp - we have the best crew out there so lets do it!

Many thanks for the suggestions so far for the photo shoot. We need as many as we can get in the Northants and Bedfordshire area so we can scout them out, so please keep the ideas coming!
