Very quiet in here at the moment. I suppose it's because we are not racing (boo hoo). Mysterious is still waiting for the final parts to come before we can start to re-build the motor. It's going to be a bit of a mad dash as we need to have the motor back in and fired up the weekend before Xtreme Wheels. I will be having a sniff of racing at the end of the month at Garys Picnic at Shakey. My good mate Ric Swan is coming down from the North East to attempt to break his previous personal best from last year of a 9.02 in a fully street legal car on treads and through a full exhaust. My job is to keep him calm and sneakily take out some more tyre pressure. if you are going to be there come and say hello.

Hed a nice chat with Mr Mysterious today and the motor is well on plan to be re-united with Nosferatu well befor the Xtreme Wheels show in June. We will make sure that the bats will have left the bell tower of Fearless Castle and all of our victims have been bled before we go.

Looks as though the first shakedown of the rebuilt motor will be doing burnouts at Xtreme Wheels on June 12-13. Should be great fun!

Fealess has a whopper of a V8 in his Dodge Ram. Maybe we should fit that instead and tip bucket loads of nitrous through it...

Nope - no heads under here -except a pair of Fuel Hemi Heads - sadly these didn't fit despite using my largest hammer. Anyone out there got a pair of BB Chevy aluminium race heads they no longer need??

Sigh....

Well done Mr Mysterious. Do you happen to have a spare set of heads under your bench as well? I'm sure you can work your dark skills once again to breathe life back into our motor. What a bummer to have to do it again after running for five seconds, but who could have predicted a valve failure on a pair of heads that have only seen a few runs.

Block is off for machine work and already the oil pan has been stripped & cleaned. Found a set of roller lifters under my bench which I knew would come in handy one day! Still much work to be done though so I'd better crack on....

Oh well. A day in the rain at Santa Pod, quite typical for the Easter Thunderball. Till we got the motor fired up for the first time after the major re build and new parts and it ran perfectly so well done to Mr Mysterious and his deformed helper Igor.

Nice to see Dave Evans there crewing for Street Eliminator, hopefully will catch up with him more over the weekend.

Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow and we can get some runs in. Sunday is looking better and Monday, but the wind is going to pick up. Hopefully a tail and we can try for the 200mph.

The pit is erected, although Hunch, Spark, Igow and I nearly got blown away by the gales. Pit tent has lumps of concrete, straps and is tied to the trailer so hopefully it will be there in the morning
Mina has prepared some loverly grub for us so we won't go hungry. Plan is to get to the pod at about 10:00am as the weather is looking terrible. I predict that the track crew will work really hard between showers but will be beaten every time then in the afternoon the heavens will open.
Still, we have plenty to do on the car so it will be a busy day for us tomorrow.
See how we are getting on with regular twitter updates from Hunch.

I have returned to these miserable climes and am safe and well. Sadly the sunshine refused to come to England as its planning to make a two day guest appearance sometime in August - its far too busy making Australia a pleasant place to live.
sorry Mr Fearless - OUR black beast. Glad be back and looking forward to spending 4 days inside a Car Trailer being cold & wet. Yes - you are probably right, I have been spoiled and I promise not to yarp on about how great it is down there.
